How do I set a Temperature Limit?

Written by support
August 15, 2020

Setting a temperature limit is crucial for receiving alarms and notifications. Limits tell the software that if the device reads any temperature data outside of the temperature limit range, an alarm should be sent to you via SMS or/and email.

You can set the temperature limit of a device in two ways:

  1. When setting up the device for the first time.
  2. On the device settings page.

When setting up the device for the first time

When you add a device, you will be prompted to configure its settings for first use. While setting up your device, on the Device Set-Up section, you will see Temperature Limits among the settings options. Here you can set values for the temperature range – which include the Maximum temperature limit and the Minimum temperature limit.

On the device settings page

You can adjust the device temperature limits after setting up for the first time. To do so;

Step 1: Navigate to My Devices on the navigation menu. You will see the list of all your previously added devices. Find out how to add a device to your dashboard.

Step 2: From the list of devices, select the device you want to set up to visit its Device Details.

Step 3: On the Device Details page, click on the Settings menu option to see the device settings. Here you can set values for the temperature range – which include the Maximum temperature limit and the Minimum temperature limit.

Important: The maximum temperature value must be greater than the minimum temperature value and vice versa or the settings would not be saved.
